Thank You for an Incredible 2025-2026 School Year!

Dear Friends of our Roosevelt Community,

As this school year comes to a close, the Foundation would like to congratulate the 5th grade class and wish them all the best - we know they will do amazing things!  We want to express our immense gratitude for the school staff, families and community members for building a fun, enriching, engaging, supportive learning environment for the remarkable RPS students!

This school year the students delighted in a variety of activities through the RPS Club Expansion Project.  Through the Gardening Club students learn about botany, sustainable agriculture, and nutrition, right outside the school building! The highly attended Sports Club promoted physical literacy, gross motor development and team collaboration.  Students engaged in several successful Student Council initiatives including a lunch collection and a Clothing Drive for RISE.  The Theater Club participants beamed with pride and joy as they performed an Upsidedown Fairytale production, providing their community with an engaging, entertaining show!   These clubs can provide invaluable, holistic development nurturing social connections and encouraging real-world application of classroom knowledge.

A year of assemblies like the Little Circus and memorable field trips to farms, the Historic Village at Allaire, Jenkinson’s Aquarium, Insectropolis and “Buddy Trips” brought lessons beyond the classroom. These tangible experiences can enhance academic retention, boost engagement, and foster critical social-emotional skills by exposing students to diverse environments.

RPS hosted another successful year of the Visiting Artist Program (VAP)!  Talented community members brought their passion and expertise to the school to teach their crafts.  The students enjoyed singing/breathing techniques; acting/directing/screenwriting; pottery; creating watercolors; designing blacktop games and sidewalk decorations; and practicing sound mapping!  These important opportunities for creative expression can support student growth through emotional regulation, critical thinking, and increased self-confidence.  These learnings were complimented by the newly transformed lobby, designed to be a student-centered, social and emotional learning center.

Through the VAP program, students were able to bring their creations home to share their personal expressions with their families.  Additionally, each student in the second grade class wrote and illustrated their own autobiography presented in a hardbound class book. Through these grant funded activities the student’s unique stories and artistic talents were captured in meaningful keepsakes.

These grants are the direct result of the commitment of families, alumni, and community members like you! Your support funds one-of-a-kind creative, hands-on experiences that make an education truly exceptional. Every donation ensures our dedicated staff can implement their best ideas and that every student has access to a richer, more diverse, and engaging school experience.  For more information about activities that took place throughout the year you can view the bottom of the Grant Activities Page and check our Facebook Page!  We thank all of our donors and supporters for your ongoing generosity and backing.

Check the Events and Fundraising Page back for fundraising activities to bring us together over the break! We hope you have a wonderful summer!
