Let the Fall Festivities Begin!

Dear Friends of our Roosevelt Community,

Fall has arrived and the students and staff have already started participating in grant funded activities! The Kindergarten and 1st grade students enjoyed a trip to Terhune Orchards, where they learned about the plant life cycle on the farm, were able to pick their own apples and drink freshly pressed apple cider.  The students were thrilled to visit with the goats, ponies, bunnies, chickens, ducks and guinea hens that lived on the farm; they learned about their habitats, eating habits and personalities.

We are very excited to share that the 2025-2026 “Visiting Artist Program” (VAP) has kicked off with our first community artist teaching the kids breathing to sing!  The students learned the benefit of belly breathing while singing and were encouraged to practice their vocal control while singing "Down by the Bay." Please view our  Grant Activities page  for more information and updates regarding the VAP.

It is shaping up to be an incredible school year, with a variety of grant activities already approved!  We anticipate a wealth of novel, captivating learning opportunities for the RPS students, including field trips to the farm, the Historic Village of Allaire and an exciting Little Circus Assembly Program!  We also look forward to grant funds supporting the RPS Club Expansion Project, which will engage the students in Sports, Theater, Gardening, Cooking as well as develop a Student Council!

The students have many fun-filled learning opportunities to look forward to these next few months and throughout the year, be sure to check our Facebook page for updates! These activities are all made possible through the generous donations and participation of our community. We thank you for your ongoing contributions and support!
